Comments: Pachamama is a very loving and attentive dam.   She has produced 3 blacks, a dark rose grey, a maroon and a fawn.  Her most recent cria, Onatha (Cricket), from our studly Ferrari, is a lovely maroon female who has the most beautiful black points and the longest, Betty Davis eye lashes.  Pachamama has been bred to our Hemingway-Accoyo stud, Acoyanza, for a July, 2004 cria.  Congratulations to Carol & Jim Cobia of Cobia Corner Alpacas on the purchase of gentle, dependable Pachamama.

Tentacion & Cria

Comments: "Ten", as we fondly call her, is a shining star on the farm. She is a friendly, sweet-natured alpaca with picture perfect and correct conformation, who sometimes gives kisses. She produced 2 magnificent greys for us, rose-grey Cinnabar  and medium silver-grey Moonshadow;  wooly-bear AdA Sienna Mist, more affectionately known as "Pumpkin", who sports a grey face to go along with her pumpkin color and a fabulous young maroon male with black tips, from our wonderful Canadian stud, Ferrari, who has been producing maroon 75% of the time.  "Ten" has been bred to our Hemi-Accoyo, Acoyanza, grandson of Accoyo Vengador and Peruvian Hemingway.  We can't wait to see what this combination brings!
Congratulations to Dave and Andrea Smith on their purchase of Tentacion and her lovely cria, Pumpkin!

Ferrari Cria,
MaLady Anne

Comments: Our Godiva is a true "Lady", even tempered, gentle-natured, always attentive to her own crias and a beloved "auntie" to all of the other crias on our farm. She is a good milker, problem-free birther. Godiva has very nice conformation and makes exquisite babies. She has produced 3 blacks, a maroon and a fawn (out of a white).  She produced, in 2003, a lovely maroon cria from our studly Javier's Ferrari, who has been producing 75% maroon crias, all sturdy, strong-boned, sweet and soft!  Congratulations to Pauline and Bob Hamel of Alpacas at Scotland Hill on their purchase of beautiful Godiva and on their new Ferrari cria, Ma Lady!

Comments: Haley has a really nice temperament. She is born out of a long line of champions (PPPeruvian Pisco Sour, her sire, won 2nd place Huacaya Get of Sire Shorn at the 2000 "Big E', Galahad, her grandsire, was Multicolored Champion at the Autumn Classic in 1994 and took many more ribbons; Bravo Bravo, her great-grandsire, is a legend).  She has given us Mariposa, (fawn, from Accoyo El Rey), Thunderbolt, (true black out of Eclipse),  produced dark-rose grey Bolivian Bismark's Kahlua, and last year, Ferrari's wonderful maroon wooly-bear, Sambuca .  We congratulate Mark and Lori Marcin of Thunder Ridge Alpacas on their purchase of Haley and on her two lovely male offspring from our prizewinning Adirondack Alpaca studs.

El Patrina's Herdsire
Peruvian El Patron

Bye, Patrina and
2003 Cria

Comments: El Patrina is the daughter of Pachamama and Peruvian El Patron (First Place National AOBA Show winner in a class of 27 in 1997). She has grown into a magnificent, large boned female; she combines Accoyo and Patagonian lines. Her famous grandsire is none other than the AOBA Get-of-Sire Blue Ribbon winner in 1997, Accoyo Caligula., and it shows in her dense, crimpy fleece and statuesque presence. Patrina was shown at the first Empire Alpaca Extravaganza in Syracuse, NY, and placed 3rd in her class. The judge, Amanda VandenBosch, commented that she had the finest fleece in her class of juvenile fawn females.   Patrina presented us with a striking female cria from our Bolivian Bismark, AdA Starlight.  She was bred last year to Black Peruvian Black Forest, prizewinning son of Accoyo Royal Fawn--->she produced a striking black female cria.  Congratulations to new owners, Pauline Lord and David Harlow of White Gate Farm!

Comments: Mariposa---when she was born, a beautiful Monarch butterfly flew by, and so she was named.  She is a large female with uniform, bold crimpy, lustrous fleece from head to toe. She exemplifies the diversity we're attempting to bring to our breeding program: half Accoyo, half Peruvian/Chilean, with champions in her bloodlines stretching back for generations (see her dam's listing to check out her lineage). Mariposa delivered our very first pure white female, lovely Elusive Butterfly ("Lucy"), from Shanghai. Mariposa took a ribbon at the first Empire Alpaca Extravaganza in Syracuse, NY in 2001, in the same class as her buddy, El Patrina. We intend to breed Mariposa to our Hemi-Accoyo, Acoyanza, in the Spring.  If she is sold prior to breeding, we would give the new owners their choice of Adirondack herdsires, to which to breed, however.

Moonshadow and her lovely 2003 offspring, "Ferrari's Rolls Royce"
View 1
View 2

Comments: On a day when the night was to bring a glorious full moon, our beautiful medium silver-grey Moonshadow was born. She has grown to be the spitting (pardon the term) image of her dam. Her herdsire is the magnificent Lanark's Expresso, multiple Blue-Ribbon winning son of the famous Peruvian Drambuie, who has moved on to Australia to win many Gets-of-Sire. Moonshadow's ("Moonskie's") fleece is extremely lustrous, with some of the best crimp we've ever seen on a grey. She took a 2nd Place at the Empire Alpaca Extravaganza in 2002 and a 5th Place at the very competitive AOBA National Show, as well. She produced a magnificent light rose-grey son from our maroon herdsire, Javier's Ferrari, who has been producing only maroon and light rose grey offspring.  Moonie has been bred back to Ferrari for a Sept. 2004 repeat, to be fair, hopefully of the female gender.

Athena Cria

Comments: Athena is our indescribably rich, black female cria out of our dependable true-black Pachamama and the magnificent coffee-brown herdsire, Bolivian Mocha. Her dark accents around legs and face, combined with her long black eyelashes and "oh-those-eyes", complete her goddess-like picture. Her dense fleece, bursting with Mocha's signature crimp, is (as the saying goes) "to die for"!---We can safely say it is one of the most exquisite black fleeces we have ever seen. Athena will be a strong foundation female. She has been settled by our prizewinning Canadian male, Javier's Ferrari, which promises to produce an exquisite, dark cria. Athena is Esther's favorite.  She has been bred back to our Hemi-Accoyo, Acoyanza, grandson of Hemingway and Accoyo Vengador, great grandson of Accoyo Shere Khan (THE ALPACA), for a Fall 2004 cria.

Comments: Black Beauty is just that---she is the synthesis of her beautiful, bay black dam, Godiva, and her dark brown herdsire, the renowned Bolivian Mocha. She is strong, straight-legged, with the signature beautiful face and gentle demeanor which her dam imparts to all of her crias. Bred to our blue-ribbon winning, jet black stud, Black Diamond, who brought strong grey and black lines to the breeding, Godiva delivered a lovely jet black cria, AdA Charna.   A Polish friend was on the farm the day she was born, so "Charna", (Polish for "black", he informed us), it was.  Congratulations to Robin Burke and Charles Patenaude on their purchase of Black Beauty!

Comments: "Pumpkin" is a knockout.   She is the daughter of our lovely Tentacion.   Her official name describes her unique coloration:  she has exquisite raw sienna fleece with a mist of grey across her face and topknot.   Her fleece shows bold crimp of extraordinary staple length and superb luster.   Pumpkin has turned into a large, strong girl and will be bred this Spring.   She is a beauty queen.   Her sire is 5X blue-ribbon winning Peruvian El Patron (Accoyo/Sollocota), 1st Place AOBA National white male in 1997 in a class of 27!!   Pumpkin's grandsire is Accoyo Caligula.   Congratulations to David and Andrea Smith on their purchase of Pumpkin!

Starlight Cria #2

Grandsire, El Patron

Comments: SStarlight is the beacon in the field. She has a unique pattern, is very dense, (as are all of Bismark's crias) and has exceptional brightness. She is tall, straight and statuesque, just like her dam, El Patrina, her 5X blue-ribbon winning grandsire, Peruvian El Patron, and her 6X red-ribbon winning herdsire, Bolivian Bismark. "Starlight, Starbright", she'll be a star, she's quite a sight!   Starlight has moved to her new owners, Jay and Julie Ward, at Ausable Valley Alpaca Co.---we will miss her, but her new home is beautiful and the Wards love her, too.  Congratulations!

Shanghai,
Son of El Patron

Comments: "Lucy" is a "fleece monster";  she exhibits head-to-toe, crimpy, bright fleece with fabulous staple length.  Her magnificent head has been passed down from her herdsire, Shanghai, son of El Patron. She descends from illustrious Accoyo grandsires, Auzengate (standing in Australia, with many prizewinning offspring), Caligula (now deceased) and El Rey. She's a beauty!  We intend to breed her to our fine Hemi-Accoyo, Acoyanza, for a Spring 2005 cria, as she is good and ready---the boys go wild when they spot her across the farm.  Acoyanza descends from Accoyo Vengador, Accoyo Shere Khan and Peruvian Hemingway.  We are excited about this breeding!  Stay tuned!

#2 Bomber

#3 Starlight

Comments: Bizzy is head-honcho on our farm. He had an illustrious show careeer (see below).  Bizzy has produced outstanding offspring (see sidebar), with more expected this Spring. His progeny exhibit the same sturdiness and strong bone, excellent conformation, tall and straight with great legs and proportions; the same dense, fine, lustrous fleece with tremendous coverage and staple length; the same curiousness, intelligence and friendliness as their prizewinning sire.

Bizzy is one of a small number of full-Bolivian herdsires available for breeding in the area, his genetics should enrich many a breeding program. Bizzy produced 3 dark rose-greys, when bred to black! Rare indeed, "Bizzy means Business"!

Awards:  SIX TIME 2ND PLACE WINNER! Eastern States Exposition, Alpaca Show 2000 (The "Big E")---2nd Place Shorn Yearling Grey & Multi Huacaya (11 alpacas in his Class); Empire Alpaca Extravaganza 2001---2nd Place Pattern Adult Male; Central New York Alpaca Classic 2001---2nd Place Mixed Adult Male; "Big E" 2001---2nd Place Shorn Multi Adult Male (8 in class); North American Alpaca Show 2002---2nd Place Multi Adult Male---(judge, Julio Sumar); and the icing on the cake---AOBA National Show 2002---2nd Place in the Shorn Mature Male Class---a testimony to "Bizzy's" consistency in the showring.

Comments: Black Diamond has matured into a fine male. He is a proven male, with one exceptional jet black female cria on the ground, AdA Charna, out of our own Black Beauty.  Black Diamond exhibits very correct conformation and a sound bite; he is easy to handle and gets along extremely well with all of the other males at our farm. His sire is one of the finest grey herdsires to be found anywhere, Request the Best (a multiple blue ribbon winner, including three successive first place prizes at the prestigious AOBA National Conference from 1997-1999; sire to >80% greys of all hues and blacks). Black Diamond's grandsire was the rose grey Cisco Kid, sire to the famous General Schwarzkopf, and his dam is also a medium silver grey. With bloodlines like these, we are confident that he promises to be a surefire bet to throw magnificent, strong-boned, robust greys and blacks for many years to come.

Awards: Black Diamond took 1st Place at the Central New York Alpaca Classic 2001, in the shorn Black Yearling Huacaya class. Anthony Stachowski judged him to be an "outstanding alpaca"---enough said!

Llambi's Herdsire,
El Patron

Comments: Harallambi is the son of Godiva, a bay black Chilean female, and El Patron, (AOBA's 1997 Grand Champion and winner of multiple blue ribbons). Harallambi? --- according to his namesake (and our friend) Harry Harallambi, this means "The Satisfier" in his native Albanian. Since Harry has the tendency to exaggerate somewhat, the derivation of this name remains at best, dubious. This having been said, we feel that "Llambi" is earmarked for the same success as his famous herdsire (and his equally reowned grandsire, Accoyo Caligula, who took the 1st Place Get of Sire in 1997 at AOBA), because he definitely has their proud presence, large size, strong bone, abundant testicles and a most pleasing head. He has dense, uniform, medium fawn fleece with bold crimp. We haven't use Llambi yet, but he is ready to breed now. We intend to let him satisfy the girls this Spring.

Awards:  "LLambi" went to the head of his class as 1st Place Light Huacaya Juvenile Male at the Central New York Alpaca Classic. The judge, Dr. Anthony Stachowski, commented on his "beautiful topline", on how he "moves out nicely front and back", and on his "exquisite head". He also took a 2nd Place Ribbon as well, at the very competitive "Big E" 2001.

Comments: Thunderbolt is now a year-and-a-half old and has all the fixin's to become a herdsire later this year. He is precocious---though the youngest male on the "boys" side, he still barrels his way past the big boys to the food bin, holds his own in play fights and has his eyes on the girls. He stands as proudly as his renowned, multiple Blue Ribbon winning herdsire, Lanark's Expresso. Thunderbolt is a solid boy, and his fleece is stunningly crimpy and lustrous, especially for a black alpaca. His grandsires are Snowmass Peruvian Drambuie, who has made quite a name for himself in Australia, and Ppperuvian Pisco Sour. He has quite a background and, we believe, quite a future.

Bomber and Kahlua 1

Bomber and Kahlua 2

Comments: Bismark's Brown Bomber is the first son of our prizewinning herdsire, Bolivian Bismark. And a proud, fine son he is. He stands tall and straight, like his dad, with the same proud presence and friendly personality that is his sires signature. His fleece has extraordinary staple length, is dark rose grey, extremely fine, soft, crimpy and above all, dense (denser than we've ever seen on such a young alpaca). We've named him after two champions; we believe he'll be one. Cosmo's Grandsire, Peruvian Pluro 1

Cosmo's Grandsire, Peruvian Pluro 2

Comments: Cosmo is the grandson of one of the finest alpacas ever to grace our shores, namely Peruvian Pluro. Pluro was already being used in Accoyo's finest herd, the "Majada de Plantel", when he was imported. He subsequently went on to become one of Australia's most prominent herdsires. Cosmo is heir to this inheritance. His dam is our trusty Godiva, who has given us one blue ribbon son already, Harallambi. Cosmo has wonderful, lustrous, dark chocolate brown, fine crimpy fleece; nice presence and great potential. We anxiously await his coming of age in a couple of years. For now, he has time to play and grow.

Comments: Cinnabar is a beautiful rose grey, with "gorgeous, fine and fancy fleece", as described by the judge at the 2001 "Big E", where he took a close Fourth place with 94 points---(1st through 3rd places had 95). Cinnabar is a fleece quality alpaca.

Snowball's Dam,
DM Starbuck

Snowball's Sire,
Accoyo El Rey

Comments: Snowball is a very sweet, compact male, who has a chiseled head with such dark eyes and lids, that it appears as if he's wearing mascara. He has wonderful fleece, bright and crimpy, yielding 8lbs last year. He is 1/2 Accoyo and has wonderful conformation. He didn't quite make the grade because of his smallish size. His dam, incidentally won 2nd Place at the Big E in 1998 in the Shorn Yearling Solid/Multi class.
